The Electric Cooperatives of South Carolina (ECSC) provide a variety of functions to the state's cooperatives: government relations, legal services, public relations and advertising, employee safety and training programs and insurance services.

The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) is the national organization representing the national interests of the cooperative electric utilities and the consumers they serve.
Palmetto Economic Development Corporation
 The team consists of a state-owned, electric-generating utility, Santee Cooper; a generation and transmission company, Central Electric Power Cooperative; twenty non-profit, customer-owned electric distribution cooperatives; and an economic development marketing organization, Palmetto Economic Development Corporation. This alliance is the largest and most effective power delivery system in the state.
