What is Operation Round Up?
July, 2008
Operation Round Up is a community service program whereby cooperative members' donations help those in need, right here in our community. It works by rounding up participating members' bills up to the nearest dollar on a monthly basis. Those pennies add up, and they are donated to families and individuals in need as well as non-profit organizations.
A nine-member Trust Board comprised of cooperative members makes sure the money goes where it can do the most good. These board members volunteer their time to meet quarterly to review qualified applications received from non-profit organizations as well as families and individuals who have emergency needs.
Want to help?
Signing up is easy. To participate in Operation Round Up, call York Electric Cooperative at (803) 684-4248 and speak to one of our Member Services Representatives. After that, your electric bill will be rounded up to the next highest dollar each month. The difference is your contribution to Operation Round Up. And the yearly average is only $6. Contributions to Operation Round Up are tax deductible.
