Members to Congress: keep fighting for us
 About 50,000 e-mails have been sent to S.C. congressmen this spring, encouraging them to keep up the fight to protect consumers from unfair increases in electric bills.
About 13,500 e-mails have been sent by, or on behalf of, YEC members who support the nationwide Our Energy, Our Future campaign, according to the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA). More than 56,000 South Carolinians are on board, including about 2,500 members of YEC. Many members signed Our Energy, Our Future cards at their annual meeting May 8.
Their messages thank S.C. congressmen for leadership on environmental challenges and ask for continued support. Co-ops support the view that Congress, not the EPA, should determine how to regulate stationary sources of greenhouse gases while keeping electricity affordable.
