For the first time, York Electric Cooperative had the honor of hosting the Fifth Annual South Carolina Lineman’s Rodeo, on March 21–22. The event brought together some of the best lineworkers in the state, highlighting their skills, safety and dedication in a spirited competition. We were proud to have so many of our members here to help cheer on our lineworkers and support this community event.
Your co-op had several competitors in both the Apprentice and Journeyman divisions.
Apprentice Division competitors: Chase Edington, Garrett Gilbert, Will Grier, Cameron Jackson, Marcos Rosales, Evan Upchurch and Isaac Westmoreland.
Journeyman Division competitors: Zhenya Deller, James Grabiec, Brent Hollingsworth, Ethan Mitchell, Jake Propst, Ryan Putnam, Hunter Reed, Jay Robinson and Joey Winters.
The South Carolina Lineman’s Rodeo is more than just a competition—it’s a celebration of the hard work, training and dedication of the men and women who keep the lights on. The event fosters a culture of safety and teamwork while giving linemen the opportunity to learn from one another in a fun and competitive setting.
York Electric Cooperative is proud to have hosted this year’s event and to have had such strong representation from its talented lineworkers. Congratulations to all the competitors for their hard work and dedication to keeping our communities powered on.
