Lineman’s Rodeo recap

YEC Line­man Chase Eding­ton won the over­all appren­tice com­pe­ti­tion at the SC Lineman’s Rodeo host­ed by York Elec­tric on March 22.

For the first time, York Elec­tric Coop­er­a­tive had the hon­or of host­ing the Fifth Annu­al South Car­oli­na Lineman’s Rodeo, on March 21–22. The event brought togeth­er some of the best linework­ers in the state, high­light­ing their skills, safe­ty and ded­i­ca­tion in a spir­it­ed com­pe­ti­tion. We were proud to have so many of our mem­bers here to help cheer on our linework­ers and sup­port this com­mu­ni­ty event.

Your co-op had sev­er­al com­peti­tors in both the Appren­tice and Jour­ney­man divi­sions.

Appren­tice Divi­sion com­peti­tors: Chase Eding­ton, Gar­rett Gilbert, Will Gri­er, Cameron Jack­son, Mar­cos Ros­ales, Evan Upchurch and Isaac West­more­land.

Jour­ney­man Divi­sion com­peti­tors: Zhenya Deller, James Gra­biec, Brent Hollingsworth, Ethan Mitchell, Jake Propst, Ryan Put­nam, Hunter Reed, Jay Robin­son and Joey Win­ters.

The South Car­oli­na Lineman’s Rodeo is more than just a competition—it’s a cel­e­bra­tion of the hard work, train­ing and ded­i­ca­tion of the men and women who keep the lights on. The event fos­ters a cul­ture of safe­ty and team­work while giv­ing line­men the oppor­tu­ni­ty to learn from one anoth­er in a fun and com­pet­i­tive set­ting.

York Elec­tric Coop­er­a­tive is proud to have host­ed this year’s event and to have had such strong rep­re­sen­ta­tion from its tal­ent­ed linework­ers. Con­grat­u­la­tions to all the com­peti­tors for their hard work and ded­i­ca­tion to keep­ing our com­mu­ni­ties pow­ered on.
