If you follow York Electric on social media, you may have noticed a new Friday tradition — short social media videos featuring YEC employees sharing about their work and lives.
The series, called Power Profiles, began last fall with the simple but powerful goal of introducing every co-op employee to the members they serve.
At first glance, these reels might seem like quick posts in your feed. But each installment seeks to build connections between members and the people who keep the lights on. From lineworkers and engineers to accountants and member services staff, Power Profiles showcases the personalities and dedication behind York Electric’s mission of safe, reliable and affordable power.
This month, Power Profiles highlights the person behind the camera — Emma Sutton, YEC’s communications and outreach representative. Since September 2023, Sutton has worked across nearly every aspect of communications, writing for South Carolina Living, assisting with social media management and coordinating member and employee communications.
She also helps lead YEC’s community outreach, from teacher grants and youth leadership opportunities to nonprofit partnerships through Operation Round Up and The Burrell Foundation.
For Sutton, launching Power Profiles was both a creative project and a personal opportunity to learn more about her coworkers. With each video, she hopes employees and members alike feel greater trust and pride in the team that provides such an essential service to our community.
Be sure to follow York Electric on Facebook and Instagram to watch Emma’s Power Profile this month and to meet more of the faces powering your cooperative every Friday evening.
