Inspiring educators

Your cooperative is proud to continue supporting quality education in our community. We believe our children are our future, and empowering the educators who inspire them each day is one of the best investments we can make in that future.

This year, York Electric awarded 13 Bright Ideas grants from a record 41 applications, along with 71 $200 classroom wish list gift cards—a total of $25,000 going directly to local teachers.

The Bright Ideas Grant program is made possible through our Operation Round Up Trust, funded by the generosity of our members who choose to round up their electric bills each month. Thanks to that community support, local educators can bring their most creative and engaging classroom ideas to life, giving students unique, hands-on learning experiences they’ll never forget.

As part of the program, community members were also invited to nominate teachers who go above and beyond for their students. Winners selected from the nominees each received a $200 gift card to help with classroom needs and wish list items.

If you’d like to apply for the 2026 Bright Ideas Grant program or nominate an exceptional teacher who’s made a difference for you or your child, applications will open on our website beginning in June.
