YEC offers scholarships, youth trips for local students
York Electric offers incredible opportunities to local students that can open doors to college, career and leadership experiences. Whether you’re a high school senior aiming for scholarships or a sophomore or junior eager for hands-on leadership adventures, YEC has something for you.

Youth trips
Washington Youth Tour: June 14–19, 2026 (for high school juniors)
Imagine spending a week in Washington, D.C., exploring the nation’s capital with more than 1,600 students from across the country. As a Washington Youth Tour delegate, you’ll:
- Tour iconic landmarks like the Lincoln Memorial, the U.S. Capitol and the Smithsonian museums.
- Participate in leadership workshops and meet with lawmakers.
- Experience the rich history and culture of our nation firsthand.

Cooperative Youth Summit: July 13–16, 2026 (for high school sophomores)
For high school sophomores, Cooperative Youth Summit offers an exciting journey to South Carolina’s Statehouse and capital city. During this trip, you’ll:
- Tour the Statehouse and meet with lawmakers.
- Learn about the role of cooperatives in shaping the energy future of our state.
- Engage in team-building activities and leadership exercises.
This summit is a fantastic way to develop leadership skills and gain insight into the cooperative business model. Apply online by Monday, Feb. 9, 2026.

Scholarships
YEC is committed to helping build a brighter future for our youth. Each year, we award:
- Five $3,000 Touchstone Energy Scholarships to graduating high school seniors. Applicants must be members of YEC to apply.
- One $3,000 Technical Advantage Scholarship to a local graduating senior attending a technical college. Applicants do not have to be members of YEC to apply.
These scholarships are designed to help ease some of the financial burden that comes with pursuing higher education. Apply online by Monday, March 16, 2026.
