Raise your thermostat a few degrees

Setting your thermostat a few degrees higher can help lower cooling costs without sacrificing comfort. Even a small adjustment can make a noticeable difference on your bill.

Keep sunlight out during the day

Close blinds, curtains, or shades during the hottest part of the day to keep your home cooler. Blocking direct sunlight helps your air conditioner work less and keeps your indoor temperature more comfortable.

Use ceiling fans wisely

Ceiling fans help you feel cooler, allowing you to raise the thermostat setting. Just remember to turn fans off when you leave since they cool people, not spaces.
