New Operation Round Up Board leadership

Gwen Thompson

Gwen Thompson has served as chairperson for the Operation Round Up Board for the past four years. As her term ends, she says she is honored to have served on the Board for four years.

“My time served was very rewarding and enlightening,” Thompson says. “The service area for a lot of York Electric is made up of growing and thriving communities. However, not everyone that lives here is thriving. Serving on the committee made me painfully aware of the needs of our neighbors. The comforts I enjoy do not belong to everyone. Thankfully, there is ORU! Pennies on my bill each month can help give someone a meal, a bed or maybe, more importantly, hope through the organizations that receive ORU funds. Please consider rounding up; the rewards are many!”

Diane Howell, who has served on the ORU board for five years, is the new chairperson.

I'm sorry, I can't identify this person. The image shows a person with curly hair, wearing a patterned top and decorative necklace, smiling against a neutral background.

New board member

Dr. Kimberly P. Johnson just began her term serving on YEC’s Operation Round Up Board. “I am so honored to be a part of the Operation Round Up board,” she says, “because this important program is committed to making sure we deliver the needed assistance to community serving organizations that are focused on lifting our community in positive and productive ways. I am proud to know I live in a community that sees the value of caring and connection!”
