Safety sparks a story

This year’s Children’s Book Challenge winner, Bennett Hall, turned a safety demonstration experience into an educational adventure in his book, “The Dos and Don’ts of Electricity.”

Inspired by a visit from YEC’s Manager of Safety and Job Training, Jesse Miskelly, Bennett’s story walks readers through how electricity works and how to stay safe around it. From the flow of power to everyday safety tips, his book makes big ideas accessible and fun for young readers.

As our local winner, Bennett received $100 and went on to compete on the statewide level against other South Carolina co-op student authors.
