Paying my bill can be a financial stretch. Advice?
Whether you’re a senior or your income is limited, paying your electric bill can sometimes be a strain on your budget. We can help.
Assistance is Available for Seniors
Senior Advantage: Does your power bill come due before your Social Security or disability check arrives? If so, then York Electric Cooperative has a program that can put your mind at ease and enable you to manage your finances more effectively. Our Senior Advantage Program allows you the extra time you need to make your payment when you know you’ll be able to do so without financial pain.
Third Party Notification: This free service acts as a safety net in case a bill gets overlooked due to unexpected life changes, hospitalization, etc. and can help provide a little peace of mind in the event of any uncertainty. This allows a designated third party to be notified should the member’s electric bill become past due or subject to disconnection. When enrolled, both the member and the third party will receive notification by mail and/or by phone if a bill becomes past due.
Flexibility is Available for All Members
Levelized Billing: Adding some predictability to your bill’s monthly total can be a big relief. Under Levelized Billing, each monthly bill is the rolling average of your electric usage for the most recent 12 months. For instance, this month’s bill would be the average electric usage of the previous 11 months, plus this month. There’s no sign-up fee or monthly service charge. All you need to do is keep your account current.
Advance Pay: While paying for your electricity before you’re billed may seem odd, it can actually help you manage your household budget by empowering you to pay when it works best for you. You purchase electricity when you want, weekly or biweekly, in the amounts you choose rather than one monthly payment, allowing you to monitor and control your electric usage as often as you wish.
I can’t decide which payment method works for me.
