Success with Member Comfort

As part our 2019 Member Comfort Initiative, we have made communication, technology, access to your co-op and information a priority at YEC. Let’s look back to review the new features that have been accomplished this year:

  • Text notifications and communication through the number 352667 for members who have a populated mobile phone on their account, including outage reporting, delinquent notices, payments and more
  • Mobile device payments for walk-in members at our York and Fort Mill office locations
  • Improved features on our YEC free mobile app. To download the app, please scan the code!
  • Increased online communication and outreach for electrical safety and education
  • Installations of equipment across our service territory to decrease outages caused by animals, as well as specific attention to right-of-way maintenance to keep trees away from the lines
  • Research of blinks and power outages to pinpoint and address problem areas through use of data analytics to decrease outage numbers
  • Direct surveys to members to learn about ways we can improve and to increase lines of communication with our members
  • Updates and improvements to substations to increase reliability

Member Comfort Update

Never far from our reach, our cell phones are the most used form of communication these days. That’s why YEC has focused on texting features as part of our Member Comfort Initiative. Power out? Now you can TEXT to report your location. Simply text OUTAGE to 352667 from the mobile phone listed on your account and your address will be flagged with an outage. Important: Please sign on to our member portal to check that your cell phone number is up to date and appearing in the mobile phone field on your account profile. This is necessary for the new texting feature to work accurately. YEC is excited to share this feature, proving our dedication to always looking out for you and working to make your life easier.

Member Comfort Update

May is Electrical Safety Month for cooperatives across the country. But that’s YEC’s priority every day. Whether we are working on your power lines or teaching students about the hazards of electricity, we do our part to prevent accidents from happening.

Let us be your source for power and information. Learn about how to stay safe! Interested in having us speak at your school? Go online and sign up for a safety presentation.

As part of our Member Comfort Initiative, we have continued to increase our communication and education. This will include special posts on social media throughout the month about common household electrical hazards and online video tips about electrical safety. We hope you find peace-of-mind that your cooperative’s focus is on protecting you. Remember, we are local people looking out for you—and your safety.
